Welcome Wilson, Sr.
HTC’s annual gala “A Celebration of Entrepreneurs” is just around the corner on May 12. This evening celebrates the incredible entrepreneurial spirit of Houston by recognizing over forty local entrepreneurs, five lifetime achievement awardees, and one esteemed honoree. This year, we have the absolute privilege of honoring Welcome Wilson, Sr. for his contributions to the community as an outstanding entrepreneur and all-around cool dude!
Mr. Wilson has been a Texas real estate developer of subdivisions, apartments, shopping centers and office buildings for over 50 years. He is Chairman of GSL Welcome Group, Chairman of River Oaks Financial Group, Inc., and is a principal in Kingham Dalton Wilson, LLC, a regional construction company. He was recently named by the president of the University of Houston as Chairman of the Drive to Tier One and is the immediate past Chairman of Board of Regents of the University of Houston Systems and a board member of the Greater Houston Partnership. He received his BBA degreen in 1949 from the University of Houston.
Beyond even all of these accomplishments however, is a man who has truly embraced a fulfilled and well-rounded life. It’s the meaningful memories, the amusing mishaps, and matchless emprises that build character in a person; and when someone has built up as much character as Mr. Wilson – it simply must be shared.
